About

About

I am a registered psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor, with over 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. I work from a warm, collaborative, and neuroaffirming framework, recognising that each person experiences the world, communicates, and learns in their own unique way. My practice is grounded in a strengths-based approach that values neurodiversity and focuses on helping clients build self-understanding, confidence, and access the supports they need to thrive.

I am passionate about helping young people develop a stronger sense of self, build confidence, and navigate challenges across home, school, and social environments. I work closely with families to support anxiety, low mood, executive functioning and emotional regulation difficulties, learning differences, and social or friendship challenges.  My approach focuses on strengths, self-awareness, and practical strategies that can be used in everyday life

Counselling Approach

In counselling sessions, I use a strengths-based, neuroaffirming approach, drawing on evidence-based therapeutic approaches, mindfulness strategies, and principles of Polyvagal Theory. This supports clients in understanding their emotional and physiological responses, building regulation skills, and developing practical strategies for everyday challenges.

Assessment & Professional Experience

I have a strong background in neurodevelopmental and educational assessment, including cognitive, learning, executive functioning (ADHD), and autism assessments. I regularly complete assessments for the Department of Education as well as independent schools, and I aim to provide clear, accessible explanations of results so families can better understand their child’s profile and access appropriate supports and school-based adjustments.

Throughout my career, I have worked across Child Protection, Disability Services (Behaviour Intervention and Support), Early Intervention, and secondary school settings within government, education, and community-based services.

In addition, I have contributed to the Australian and New Zealand standardisation of major psychological assessment tools, including the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence – Fourth Edition (WPPSI-IV), the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V), and the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Third Edition (WIAT-III).

Current Practice

I now work exclusively in private practice, providing psychological assessment and counselling for children, adolescents, and families. My work is guided by a neuroaffirming, client-centred approach with a strong focus on clarity, collaboration, and practical support.
